Rabbi Yakov Malayev
Passionate about spreading the light of Torah, Rabbi Yakov began his journey in Yeshivat Shaarei Zion in B’nai Brak, where he studied diligently for seven years. He continued his learning at a Collel Rabbanut, meanwhile leading the Congregation of Beit Aaron in Tel-Aviv. Understanding the need for a Community Rabbi in Toronto, Rabbi Yakov migrated in 2003 to fill this void. Ever since, he has been at the forefront of the JBCT, working hard for the community. He envisions building a JBCT Community Centre in the near future, which would house a Jewish elementary school, as well as an evening collel.
